EcoQuest Fresh Air Buddy Causes Fire On Continental Flight
An EcoQuest Fresh Air Buddy personal air purifier caught fire on a Continental Airlines flight from Houston to Portland Friday evening causing the plane to make an emergency landing in Colorado Springs.
About an hour after the flight left Houston at 3:48 pm the Fresh Air Buddy caught fire. Apparently several seat cushions had to be put out by flight attendants using fire extinguishers.
Six passengers had to be taken to a local Colorado Springs hospital including the man wearing the personal air purifier.
EcoQuest has suspended the sale of the Fresh Air Buddy indefinitely and is asking dealers and customers not to sell or use the unit until further notice.
